Exhibition!

As promised, here are some details of our upcoming exhibition, WhiteSpace. It's tempting to spell exhibition with an X to the Z, but I'm trying hard not to!

You can find more details on the WhiteSpace site, as well as see some snippets of the work that'll be on show, but in short, we'll be at The Lighthouse, Mitchell Lane, Glasgow, from the 18th to the 22nd of May. We really hope as many people as possible can come and see our work!

This is my page on the site here. I'll also have an installation piece at the exhibition, but at the moment, it's still sitting on the upstairs landing drying off! I'm certainly not looking forward to getting it into town on the rush hour train...

Pre-preview!

Today is easily the warmest day of the year so far, and I'm holed up inside working on my most recent animation. Of course, by the time I've finished, it'll be raining again. Typical, isn't it?!

Anyway, here is a pre-preview of how my file is going to look - I'm calling it a pre-preview, as some elements awe still missing. Best crack on with it and provide my fox with some arms and eyes!

On site!

Well, two updates in two days - I'm on blogging fire!

Just to quickly let you all know that I've finally uploaded the new site! I tried hard to make it a yellow based site, but like every website I've ever built, it gradually became pink and grey! I just can't help myself.

So, if you'd like to have a look at the site, and my updated set of illustrations then head on over to www.linzykerr.com!

Taking care of business

How long has it been since I last blogged?! Long enough for the tiny little dog in the last post to have grown to the size of a medium hippopotamus!

Amongst other things I've been working on, I finally got round to building the website that I've been talking about for ages. And with a new website, comes new business cards! What do you think of portrait business cards instead of the usual landscape? The card design is still a work in progress until I finalise my new domain name, but hopefully that will all happen soon.

I also got back into markets after a long break with a few other Digital Art students at The Lighthouse Easter market in Glasgow! Speaking of The Lighthouse, we're also holding a group exhibition there next month. I'll put up some details a little bit closer to the time, maybe with a sneak preview of my animation which is about a fox who eats sausages, but can't decide what to wear! It seemed like a good idea for an animation at the time...

Back to work!

Well since my last blog post, I haven't done much in the way of illustrating! Mainly because I was finishing up some uni work, and also, because we now have a little pest to look after. Her name is Violet, and I think she might just be the subject of an illustration some time soon.
I finally got back into listing more items in the shop today though. There's now tonnes of big glossy pendants that have my illustrations inside - they're a really modern alternative to cameos, and you can see them by clicking the big yellow shop button on the right.

Key-wah-wah!

Today, inbetween eating hundreds of white chocolate cookies and drinking so much Diet Irn Bru that I think I might be turning slightly orange, I managed to list some new items in my Folksy shop.

I've made tonnes of different keyrings, but the one that I use on my keys is this little chihuahua. If you feel that you need a tiny little guard dogs for your housekeys, you can find them here.

I should be so lucky...

As well as a whole load of other rubbish I hoard, I also have an excellent collection of maneki neko ornaments. More commonly seen in Chinese takeaways, I have a whole host of lucky cats that I rely on to bring me wealth and fortune! I've got white cats, gold cats, black cats, cats that move, fat cats, scowling cats... allsorts really.

A while ago I did a quick watercolour&felt pen drawing of one of my lucky cats, and yesterday I decided to spruce it up a bit in Illustrator. It's still not right, but I think I might change it some more and make it into a lino print when my new supplies get here!
